Calumite as an Abrasive

The product is a light in colour Calcium Silicate synthetic mineral abrasive produced from granulating Blast Furnace slag in the ironmaking process.

Size Range:

0.70-0.10mm

Applications include:

  • Cleaning of ornate buildings (stone, masonry & concrete) whilst preserving detailed features
  • Cleaning wood for surface preparation & rejuvenation purposes, whilst minimising grain damage
  • Surface Preparation – removal of rust, paint, dirt, mill scale etc.
  • Masonry renovation
  • Graffiti Removal

Examples in use include buildings such as St Pauls Cathedral.

Benefits:

  • Aesthetically pleasing due to the light in colour particles, producing an off-white dust
  • Rapid cleaning due to the angular particles
  • No free Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS)
